Machiavillain acts
Machiavellian acts
BJP President Gadkari says that Yeddyurappa's acts may be immoral but not illegal. Perhaps he wanted to say that his acts may be unlawful but not illegal. Once a party comes in power it cannot make a distinction between immoral, unlawful and illegal acts in the office which it holds and does not befit in its mouth to justify saying that it’s CM might have committed immoral or unlawful acts but not illegal acts. Niccole Machiavelli, an Italian Politician who explained in his book ‘The prince’, that it was often necessary for rulers to use immoral methods in order to achieve power and success. A Decade ago when Dig Vijay Sing the then Chief Minister of M.P. refused to grant sanction for prosecution of a VIP the then governor of M.P. Bhai Mahaveer sue motu granted sanction. Dig Vijay Singh approached the court against the sanction by the then governor but to no avail. Why BJP should hesitate to face trial if any case is registered against Yeddy. Seek anticipatory bail and face trial. Yeddy should not run away from the prosecution if any and justify his actions. Things are not as they are being seen by BJP with bias eyes. The BJP could not remove him from CM ship last time. If BJP wanted to make its position strong it could have asked for resignation of Yeddy or at least could ask for fresh elections. It appears that in future it will lose power in Karnataka unless it changes its Augean stable to some extent. Sanctioning prosecution under section 197 of the Code of Criminal Procedure Code and under section 19 of the prevention of corruption Act was within the jurisdiction of the governor and he did no wrong in exercising his discretion in the matter. In fact his action should be welcomed .This will help to separate chaff from grain. BJP should abstain from crafty and Machiavellian acts. In fact BJP is in competition with Congress on corruption and may be that it will succeed in it!
